Geissinger’s Event Experience Includes Work with Presidential Campaigns and The White House
WASHINGTON, D.C. (June 3, 2021) — Susan Davis International (SDI), a full-service international special events and public relations agency headquartered in Washington, D.C., today announced it has named Spencer E. Geissinger as Vice President. At SDI, Geissinger will lead the Event Management and Business Development practices and spearhead the agency’s go-to market strategies as the country opens back up from the COVID-19 pandemic.
A seasoned high-level government and private sector leader, he brings nearly three decades of experience to SDI managing complex, multifaceted organizations and operations. He has held senior roles in multiple political campaigns, a Governor’s office, the White House, the Department of State and, most recently, in multiple leadership positions in the private sector. Geissinger also currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Federal Enforcement Homeland Security Foundation.
“We are honored to welcome Spencer to the SDI team as we continue to deliver first-class special events and public relations for our clients at a critical time as we transition into a new normal for 2021 and beyond,” said Susan Davis, SDI Chairman. “His impressive background and reputation as a proven leader, both in D.C. and nationwide, will prove to be a valuable asset as we further our impressive growth and present even more capabilities to clients.”
Geissinger joins SDI from Showcall, Inc., an award-winning DC-based event production firm, where he served as Director and Vice President since 2014. As a member of the Senior Executive Team, Geissinger was responsible for generating new business, go-to market strategies, media relations, government relations and maintaining existing client relationships. Prior to his position at Showcall, Geissinger held the position of Chief of Staff and Director of Estate Management for an ultra-high net worth Hedge Fund CEO overseeing a large and diverse staff and budget of in excess of $12m annually.
“I am thrilled for the opportunity to marry my government and private sector experiences to build upon the success that SDI has had for decades,” said Geissinger. “My career and background are perfectly aligned with the goals that SDI has laid out for future growth, and the timing could not be better as we emerge from the worst of the pandemic.”
Geissinger’s experience in the government sector spans local and federal work. Before presiding as Director of External Affairs and Director of the Washington DC Office for the Governor of Florida, he served as Deputy Assistant to the President of the United States for Operations at the White House– a role in which he oversaw dozens of military, security, and operational agencies and components involved in the execution of the Presidential traveling footprint. Geissinger has also worked as a Senior Diplomat in the U.S. State Department as Assistant Chief of Protocol for Visits and later as Deputy Executive Director of the 2004 G8 Summit.
