The Edison Foundation – In conjunction with Hargrove Inc., SDI is providing logistics management for The Edison Foundation’s “Powering the People 2.0: Innovations for a Better World” event on March 21 at the Newseum in Washington, D.C. The Foundation works to encourage a greater understanding of the production, delivery, and use of electric power to foster economic progress; to ensure a safe and clean environment, and to improve the quality of life for all people.

Mary Furlong & Associates – SDI is leading event production for Mary Furlong & Associates’ 10th annual “What’s Next Boomer Business Summit” in Chicago on March 12. MFA is a strategy, business development and marketing firm headquartered in the San Francisco bay area. The summit brings together the country’s top businesses and organizations that are focused on the boomer and beyond marketplace. Serving as Associate Producer of the conference is SDI client Brooks Kenny, Chief Marketing Officer and Founding Team member of Lotsa Helping Hands.

Thoth Awards – A long-time PRSA NCC Chapter member, SDI will provide event management for the 45th annual Thoth Awards Gala in September 2013. SDI previously managed the gala as a pro bono service to the PRSA NCC chapter.

Army Historical Foundation – For the third year, SDI will work with the Army Historical Foundation. After helping the Foundation promote the Army Commemorative Coin in 2011, SDI designed and implemented a national awareness campaign that has included the participation of a celebrity spokesperson, growing the Foundation’s digital media presence and securing more than $1 million in cost-free radio and print PSAs.

Marine Corps Heritage Foundation – Since SDI managed the dedication of the National Museum of the Marine Corps in 2006, the Marine Corps Heritage Foundation has retained SDI for media relations. The Foundation is tasked with completing the National Museum of the Marine Corps and Heritage Center, Triangle, Va. SDI will continue to work with the Foundation in 2013 to achieve this goal.

Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund – SDI managed a comprehensive communications campaign and provided event support for the November 2012 groundbreaking of the Education Center at the Wall. The future national landmark will bring to life the stories of more than 58,000 American service members lost in the Vietnam War. It will also feature photos and stories of the fallen in Iraq and Afghanistan, serving as a temporary memorial until today’s veterans receive their own national place of honor.

Washington Tennis & Education Foundation – SDI provided event management for the November 2012 groundbreaking of the Washington Tennis & Education Foundation’s Tennis, Education and Community Center in D.C.’s Ward 7. WTEF is the premier educational and tennis organization for underserved kids, providing quality instruction, resources, and mentorship to some 1,000 Washington D.C. area children every year.

The Institute of Museum & Library Services – SDI has been retained to provide strategic communications counsel and media relations services to support the Institute of Museum and Library Services’ National Medal program. The National Medal for Museum and Library Service is the nation’s highest honor conferred on museums and libraries for service to the community and celebrates institutions that make a difference for individuals, families, and communities. Currently, the firm is interacting and securing coverage about 33 finalist institutions and planning for the 2013 National Medal Celebration, which will occur this spring.
