(February 19, 2020) – Susan Davis International (SDI), a full-service international special events and public relations agency headquartered in Washington, D.C., announced it has named Abby Eastman as Director, Events & Communications. Eastman has nearly a decade of experience in the nonprofit, hospitality, and tourism industry sectors and is a Certified Meeting Professional (CMP), which is a designation recognized globally as the badge of excellence in the events industry.

Eastman joins SDI after most recently serving as Senior Meeting Planner at the National Association of College and University Business Officers, managing and executing the association’s annual meeting for the $536 billion higher education marketplace. The NACUBO annual meeting is the largest event for college and university business officers with more than 2,500 attendees, rotating regionally each year.

“What excites me the most about SDI is the ability to listen to what our clients are hoping to achieve from their events and turn those goals into reality,” said Eastman. “From a very young age, I have always had a passion for special events and what they do for those around us. Whether it’s recognizing someone’s lifetime achievements, or bringing people together for a common goal, each event is different.”

Eastman’s experience also includes supporting high-profile events such as the White House Correspondents’ Association Annual Dinner, The National Prayer Breakfast, The Mystic Krewe of Louisianans Washington Mardi Gras, and Fight Night – Fight for Children, during her time with the Hilton Hotel in Washington, D.C.
